慶應義塾大学で、学費値上げ闘争に関して塾長の提案がなされ、三田で約１万人の学生の学生大会が開かれる。大学側の名を捨てて実を取る提案に学生執行部が歩み寄り、学生大会の決議で4年生の試験ボイコットだけは避けられる。しかし、1万人がストライキ、試験ボイコットに参加した学生運動は古今他にも例を見ない。

全日本空輸の貨物便のダグラスDC-3型機が、大阪国際空港を離陸後に静岡県上空で巡航中に失踪した。後に墜落していたことが判明したが、機体が発見されたのは22ヵ月後であり、そのうえ捜索範囲から大きく離れた地点であった（全日空貨物機失踪事件）。
